NLGC Challenge 2017

The North London Golfington Club Challenge was held at Highgate Wood in September 2017.

Eleven keen competitors gathered at the café in the historic wood to take on the recently revived Highgate Wood course.  There was glorious sunshine as competitors grabbed a quick coffee or beer, drew on their cocks, and prepared themselves.

Glorious sunshine.  Enjoying it while it was available.

A very well-dressed artist at work.

Hole one was relatively short and did not present too many problems for most players:

Carolyn taking a shot

Gaf aiming for the hole…

Golfington trolley with racquets

The second hole was more challenging, with most players failing to keep within the narrow corridor of uncertainty and falling foul of the out-of-bounds rules at least once.

Megan teeing off at hole two

Stephen teeing off also…

Bethany threading it down the corridor of uncertainty

Carolyn and Holly look relieved to have finished that hole!

Hole three was relatively uneventful.  Few pictures of it.

Just Bronson checking that everyone is actually over the line.

Hole four presented an opportunity for a hole in one…

Which Carolyn took advantage of!

It also started raining at this hole, forcing a few retirements of those who needed to look after damp children.

Hole five was relatively straightforward… once under the initial “hurdle” it was pretty much straight to the hole, although not short.

Carolyn watches where her second shot landed

Martina hits the hole.  Not sure why she is looking confused, it was a good shot!

Hole six, once located….

Carolyn tees off…

A very good clustering of cocks.  Apart from one player who landed his in the undergrowth over to the right.

Trying to identify whose is whose in the foliage.

After this, there was another deluge resulting in further retirements.  It seems that all the journalists retired too because there are no pictures of the final three holes being played.

We reconvened at The Wrestler to add up scores and have a well-earned drink:

Megan and Bronson won the best-dressed vote!  There was some discussion as to whether bringing along a small, cute dog with a matching hat was cheating but the result stood.

Martina won the cup and pretended to be surprised about it!

Final standings of those who completed all nine holes:

  1. Martina
  2. Stephen
  3. Gaf
  4. Bethany
  5. Kate
  6. Rina
